Message from President Bill Clinton

On the occasion of the commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands Coral Reef Ecosystem Reserve, President Bill Clinton sent the following letter of congratulations.

In the letter President Clinton recognizes that the establishment of the Reserve which paved the way for the later designation of Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument, would provide additional protections for 140,000 square miles of vibrant and diverse habitats.
