
The public scoping process, including public scoping meetings, was intended to solicit information and comments on the range and significance of issues related to the designation and management of a Northwestern Hawaiian Islands National Marine Sanctuary. The results of this scoping process will assist NOAA in formulating alternatives for a draft management plan and draft environmental impact statement for the proposed designation.
The public comment period closed on Friday, May 17, 2002.
We are currently in the process of analyzing the comments. Over 14,000 comments were received. The raw comments collected from the scoping meetings are posted below.
