On October 18, 2011, Lānaʻi High School hosted classroom presentations by USFWS volunteer and Reserve Advisory Council Education Working Group member, Barb Mayer and PMNM Outreach Specialist, Wes Byers. Lānaʻi High School students participated in activities such as a "virtual field trip" to Tern Island as well as learned about seabird feathers, bones, and eggs, as well as marine debris.
