2012 Maritime Heritage Expedition Log by Etta Karth – July 8, 2012

The Hiʻialakai arrived at its first destination one day early. French Frigate Shoals, where the Maritime Heritage Team discovered the Two Brothers shipwreck in 2008. The research teams were all more than prepared for this opportunity. The dive team did a quick tow snorkel to locate former artifacts like one of the try pots used to extract blubber of a whale and boil it down into a liquid form.
