Whaling and Whaleships in Papahānaumokuākea

Jason Raupp is a PhD candidate at Flinders University in Australia. Jason has worked as a maritime archaeologist all over the world, and came to the Monument with an interest in developing a project to interpret and better understand the high concentration of whaling shipwreck sites in the Monument.

His work will help managers at Papahānaumokuākea with a better understanding of the American and British whaling shipwreck sites in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands.
